Tinhorn Creek Takes Home a Plentitude of Awards

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards is revelling in their recent competition success.  The 22nd Annual Tasters Guild International Wine Tasting awarded the Oliver winery with five medals, one for each of the wines they entered.  Taking home GOLD were the 2006 Tinhorn Creek Merlot and 2007 Tinhorn Creek Gewurztraminer, while the 2007 Tinhorn Creek Chardonnay, 2006 Tinhorn Creek Pinot Noir, and 2006 Tinhorn Creek Cabernet Franc all were given SILVER medals.  Forming the judging panel for the Tasters Guild International were a carefully selected mix of forty winemakers, retailers, wine writers, restaurateurs, and knowledgeable consumers.  They completed over 2,100 evaluations of wine from 13 countries.

Of the recent accolades, Tinhorn Creek Winemaker Sandra Oldfield says “It’s always good when hard work is recognized by judges, but of course we are most happy with the positive feedback we have received from our customers on these wines.  With our new packaging in the market now as well we feel like it’s a great way to kick off the summer season.”
