Hot-Brewed Iced Espresso
Hot-Brewed Iced Espresso

This recipe comes from The Café Guide Test Lab. We used a Café Femenino Fair Trade Peru Coffee ground for espresso. What better way to make the most of summer than to brew an iced espresso!

INGREDIENTS: Coffee Beans ground fresh for espresso in your home grinder. Water to boil in the espresso machine. 2 ice cubes.

TOOLS: 2 clear 2 oz shot glasses, espresso machine with large filter gasket (to make 2 espresso shots), tamper, coffee grinder.

SERVINGS: 2

  1. Transfer ice cubes from freezer tray into each shot glass (1 ice cube per glass).
  2. Fill the gasket with freshly ground espresso beans, use the tamper to pack the coffee in the gasket.
  3. Turn on the espresso machine to heat the water.
  4. Place shot glasses under each pour spout of espresso machine.
  5. Press the on switch and watch the espresso pour over the ice. Once the espresso shot fills the glasses, press stop.
  6. Serve at once and drink slowly and savour the flavor of the coffee.

Note: Best to use a premium dark roasted espresso coffee.
