Gelati d’Alberto, 45, rue Mouffetard, Paris

For over 9 years, “Maître” Alberto has been making amazing gelato in the heart of Paris’s bohemian student district, rue Mouffetard, hidden behind the Sorbonne University. With a gelato factory in the basement, Master Alberto concocts and whips up exotic gelato flavors served in the form of a rose on a cone. 54 flavors to choose from: 34 milk-based and 20 fruit sorbets. Some favorites are ‘baccio’ (chocolate), hazelnut, apple pie, tiramisu, Baileys, Bounty bar, oriental rose, and milk. Straight from Italy, this expert gelato-maker makes the visit worthwhile serving a natural and authentic pure gelato.
