Café Cabrini, Santa Cabrini Hospital, 5655 Rue Saint-zotique Est, Montreal
This café is located at the main entrance of the Santa Cabrini Hospital, and is open throughout the day for a little something or a full meal. Breakfast is popular at almost any time of the day.
Being as this is the only Italian hospital in Canada, you can get espresso and cappuccino at this café, even a mocha latté, not just a cup of joe. Service in English, however, is more of a stretch. The food is solid but quality varies widely between dishes. Mind you, if you are eating here because you are highly stressed, nothing will sit right.
The muffins aren’t made onsite and the flavor choice changes daily. (I’ve had banana, chocolate chip, cranberry, and mixed fruit.) But they are huge and you can get butter with them, and optionally you can have them warmed up.
Avoid the steak sandwich: strips of overcooked beef on a long bun with very greasy French fries. It sat like a rock in my stomach.
